When I arrived here, I obviously didn't have phone service. Sprint barely works in the U.S., let alone across the Atlanta Ocean. It took me 2+ days to get a phone and people kept asking why it wasn't the first thing I did. Well if you know me, I never carry my phone around at home let alone overseas when I don't have any numbers (I'm up to 24 now! But, I'm not going to lie, one of them is myself).
I went to the phone store and asked for the "shittiest phone you have," and literally that is what I got. My phone is a LG, 12 button, 1" screen beauty that only set me back about 8 pounds. The sad part is that it actually looks nicer than my real phone which as I say has been "loved", others may call it "abused".
My phone comes with some amazing perks, my favorite being BOGO movie tickets on Wednesdays. This Wednesday we took full advantage of it and saw not only an Oscar worthy performance, but also a film about an English king (while we're in England!) - The King's Speech. I'm highly recommending it.
Tonight, I attended my first ever rugby match. We took the train (1st class mind you) to Stockport, a small town all of one stop and about 6 minutes down the road. Rugby is a mix between American football, soccer, and gymnastics. And about a trillion times more intense. Think tackling minus the padding and minus the ref's whistle that stops the play.
The team we were cheering for, the Sharks, were the second worst in their league. So, it wasn't that surprising that they lost. I would say they're the Carolina Panthers of English rugby. The cutest part was the half-time show, where we watched a miniature game of under 7 year olds play flag rugby.

I have finally found my 2 greatest comforts of back home - "American style" peanut butter and Mountain Dew. At first, I was wrongly informed that these 2 favorites would not be in England, but ahha, they are located in a drugstore right across the street!
